Frequently Asked Questions About Aircraft Rental

What exactly does 'Wet Rate' mean?
A 'wet rate' means the cost of aviation fuel and oil is completely included in the $170 hourly price. You just pay for the time the engine is running. If you have to refuel at another airport during a cross-country flight, we credit you back for the fuel you purchased!
Are your rental aircraft IFR certified?
Yes. Our Cessna 172 Skyhawks are IFR-equipped and maintained to rigorous standards, making them perfect for instrument students or rated pilots needing to maintain their IFR currency.
What is required to rent an aircraft solo?
You must hold the appropriate pilot certificate and medical, and complete a standard checkout flight with one of our Bird Dog Flight Services instructors to ensure you are familiar with our specific aircraft and local Fort Worth airspace procedures.
Can I take the aircraft for a multi-day trip?
Absolutely! We love seeing our pilots use their ratings to explore. Multi-day rentals are subject to daily minimum flight hour requirements. Contact our dispatch team to coordinate your specific trip details.
